It’s the Third Saturday of October and you know what that means: It’s the Alabama-Tennessee football game. And one Alabama coach is locked in for the occasion.
Video from Neyland Stadium in Knoxville ahead of the 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff shows one member of the Alabama coaching staff entering the building with a cigar sticking out of his mouth.

But if the coaches was hoping to project confidence with the move, it doesn’t seem to be going over well with fans. Many are joking that it could a “pride before the fall” move while others pointed out that Alabama have been struggling too much lately for any of their members to be walking around with cigars. Still others believe that Nick Saban never would have tolerated that behavior while he was the head coach.
“Would be unemployed by kickoff if Saban was still around…….” one Auburn fan declared.
“Surely this was will end well,” wrote another.
“Nick Saban would literally never,” a third wrote.
Of course, Alabama literally did – and always do after a win over Tennessee. But that’s usually AFTER, not before.
Alabama have had a rough few weeks. They eked out a win over South Carolina after getting stunned by Vanderbilt in an historic loss to the moribund SEC program.
If the Vols beat the Crimson Tide today, it’ll mark the first time in nearly a generation that the program suffered multiple regular season defeats before November.
All eyes will be on Bama for today’s game.
