He’s been out for two weeks.
According to several reporters on site during Tuesday’s practice, Tennessee wing Darlinstone Dubar has rejoined the team and resumed practicing. The Hofstra transfer was back on the practice floor on both Monday and Tuesday.
Dubar took two weeks away due to a personal matter.
“We’re leaving it up to him,” Rick Barnes said after the opener, which Dubar didn’t appear in. “He’s around, and he’s still here with us every day, and we just wanna make sure he knows that we’re there for him. Tough time for him, just personally, that I think he’s dealt with for a while. We love him to death and we miss him, but it’s up to him.”
Dubar played five minutes in Tennessee’s scrimmage against Indiana before stepping away.
The 6-8 wing was one of the most efficient scorers in college basketball last season, shooting 40 percent from three-point range. He averaged 17.8 points per game, while pulling down nearly seven rebounds per game. Dubar was Tennessee’s first signing out of the transfer portal during the offseason.
Tennessee is 2-0 so far on the year, fresh off of a nice road with against Louisville. They return to Knoxville tonight, where they’ll face Montana. That should be a nice opportunity to work Dubar back into the rotation, assuming he’s ready to play.
