Faizon Brandon, the No. 1 quarterback from the 2026 recruiting class, is taking his talents to Knoxville. On Saturday, he announced his commitment to Tennessee.
Brandon was also considering Alabama, LSU and NC State. The 6-foot-4 gunslinger also received offers from programs such as Florida State and Georgia.
Before announcing his decision to the public, Brandon spoke to Volquest about his decision. At the end of the day, he felt most comfortable with Tennessee’s coaching staff.
“Really I just have a great relationship with the top on down,” Brandon told Volquest. “From head coach, coach Heup to coach Joey to the assistant quarterback coach, coach Mitch (Militello). I have a great relationship with all of them. I just feel like this is the perfect fit for me and I know I’m going to be developed here and pushed to my best.”
Brandon didn’t stop there with his praise of Coach Heupel.
“The relationship I have with coach Heup and him calling me. It’s not like that everywhere else where the head coach is calling you trying to speak to you. That’s really a big thing about Tennessee.”
Brandon has all the tools to become a star at the collegiate level. During the 2023 high school football season, he had 3,026 passing yards with 36 touchdowns and only three interceptions.
Tennessee fans better get their popcorn ready… in 2026.
