“How many times have I talked about this. It’s simple officiating malpractice at this point,” one fan tweeted.
“Yes, but it doesn’t matter Milroe wasn’t going to make a play,” another fan tweeted.
“Of course,” another tweet read.
“No,” another fan tweeted.
“Tough to say. Good call,” another tweet read.
Tennessee added a field goal to go up 24-17 before giving the ball back to Alabama for one more drive. Alabama needed to tie the game to send it to overtime but quarterback Jalen Milroe threw an interception to walk-on safety Will Brooks.
The Vols then took three straight knees to officially clinch the win and get to 6-1 on the season.
While this is a great win for the Vols, it’s a crushing loss for the Crimson Tide’s SEC Title and College Football Playoff hopes.
The Tide will have another tough game next week when they return home to play the No. 19 Missouri Tigers.
