The Tennessee Volunteers and perhaps the entire Volunteer State are sending their thoughts and prayers to legendary head coach Phillip Fulmer today.
According to The Tennessean, Fulmer has undergone an unspecified medical procedure this week. He is currently recovering in the hospital.
Fulmer is just one week away from his 73rd birthday, so fans are understandably nervous for him.
Many have taken to X to offer their prayers to Fulmer as he recovers.

Phillip Fulmer was head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers football team from 1992 to 2008, during which he returned the program to glory by leading them to an SEC title in 1997 and an undefeated national title in 1998.
Fulmer went 151-52-1 in 17 years at the helm, with 13 top 25 finishes, six top 10 finishes and three top five finishes.
After retiring as head coach, Fulmer worked as an analyst at CBS for some time before returning to the Volunteers as their athletic director in 2017. He served in that role until 2021.
We all wish Coach Fulmer the best in his recovery.
