Another road test.
After taking the midweek off, Tennessee basketball is back in action with another tough road test on deck. The Volunteers will head to College Station to face No. 7 Texas A&M, who is coming off of a loss to Mississippi State on the road.
The Aggies return home today where they’ve only lost one time so far in conference play (Alabama). Texas A&M is 20-6 overall and 9-4 in SEC play. Today’s result is a big one for the regular season standings as teams try to position themselves for the Thursday bye in the SEC Tournament. Tennessee trails Texas A&M by one game currently.
Playing against A&M, you know what you’re getting. The Aggies are always super aggressive on the board, so keeping pace in the rebounding battle will be key.
“Rebounding is the first thing and the fact that they play extremely hard and well coached,” Rick Barnes said of Texas A&M. “They know their system. They know what they want to play. And you know, I’ve known Buzz for a long time and his teams always compete at the highest level. They are the best in the country rebounding wise.”
