Yet another tough test.
The Tennessee Volunteers are back in action tonight, returning to Knoxville to face Mississippi State. Tennessee, coming off of a loss in Nashville to Vanderbilt, remains ranked No. 6 in the AP Poll. Mississippi State snapped a two-game skid over the weekend by beating Ole Miss.
The 14th-ranked Bulldogs are 3-2 so far in conference play and also hold wins over Memphis and Pitt. They’re led by sophomore guard Josh Hubbard, who poured in 18 points to beat Tennessee last season in the SEC Tournament. Hubbard is averaging 16.6 points per game this year. The 5-11 point guard will face another undersized point guard tonight, matching up with Zakai Zeigler.
Tennessee moved down to No. 6 in KenPom following the weekend. Mississippi State moved to No. 22.
The Volunteers are 8.5 point favorites tonight.
