Let’s get this going.
One of the best weekends in all of sports is here. The NCAA Tournament tips off today with the first 16 games of madness, carrying us into tomorrow where we’ll do it all again. Tennessee starts their tournament journey tonight, set to face the SoCon Tournament Champions.
Wofford earned a 15-seed after springing an upset in their conference tournament, where they were a No. 6 seed. KenPom ranks the Terriers 122nd overall with the 69th rated offense.
Corey Tripp leads the way with 14.3 points per game. Dillon Bailey shoots better than 45 percent from three-point range. Tennessee will have to keep center Kyler Filewich off the boards as he averages 9.4 per game.
Tennessee enters coming off of a strong SEC Tournament, featuring wins over Texas and Auburn. The Volunteers came up just short against Florida, thanks in part to losing the rebounding battle. That’s a key for this team going forward, and a concerning trend that’s popped up late in the season.
The winner here will move on to face the UCLA-Utah State winner on Saturday.
