The annual spring game is set.
The Tennessee spring game is set for April 12th at 2 p.m. ET, per an announcement from the school on Thursday. The annual Orange and White Game caps spring football practices, which are set to begin today.
Once again this year Neyland Stadium will be at reduced capacity due to the ongoing renovations. Seating capacity will be reduced to 45,000, according to the announcement. Tickets are set to go on sale Friday morning.
The biggest part of the announcement? There will be no television coverage, not even a stream. The game has typically been available through ESPN+, but it will not be this year. Vol Network will cover the game via radio.
Could this be the final Orange and White Game we see? It’s possible. There’s momentum flowing towards revamping the college football offseasons schedule, with many pushing to eliminate spring games altogether. These games have become more and more watered down through the years, and the possibility of shifting towards more of an NFL mini-camp model is on the table.
So if you want to catch the action on the 12th, you’ll have to be in attendance. General admission seats are $10.
