Tennessee quarterback Joe Milton put on a show at the Manning Passing Academy over the weekend.
Milton, who was the “talk” of the event before he even showed up, according to OutKick’s Glenn Guilbeau, went viral for his outrageous arm strength, which he showed off by throwing a ball approximately 80 yards in the air on Friday night.

A transfer from Michigan, Milton began the 2021 season as Tennessee’s starter before an ankle injury in Week 2 led to him getting surpassed by Hendon Hooker.
Hooker would remain the starter until tearing his ACL late in the 2022 season. He was then replaced by Milton, who threw for 398 yards and four touchdowns in the Vols’ final two games, which included an Orange Bowl win over Clemson.
It’s not just media, fans and campers who are impressed by Milton either. Peyton Manning himself spoke his praises.
“He was throwing with my son Marshall (last Thursday), and I mean 40 yards is like a little flick for him,” Manning said of Milton. “Just a warm-up. Had a good visit with him. I’ve enjoyed getting to know Joe. He texts occasionally. Pull hard for him, and boy really proud of him coming in last year after Hendon’s injury. He kept things together and a great bowl win.”
In two years at Tennessee, Milton has thrown for 1,346 yards, 12 touchdowns and no interceptions. A strong 2023 season could result in the Pahokee, Fla. native getting his name in the conversation for being a first-round NFL Draft pick.
