Florida and Tennessee are scheduled to renew their rivalry this Saturday in Knoxville.
Tennessee comes in as the No. 7 team in the country after losing on the road to Arkansas last Saturday while Florida is coming off a 24-13 win against UCF to improve to 3-2 overall. It was Florida’s second-straight win after dropping two of its first three games to open the season.
Steve Spurrier, who used to coach Florida, was happy with what he saw from Florida against UCF and thinks the former has a shot at beating Tennessee.
“That was a big win for us, for Napier, the staff and now let’s keep that momentum going,” Spurrier said, (first transcribed by 247Sports). “We’re certainly capable of beating Tennessee. If Arkansas can beat them, we can beat them. If we play a good game and we’re up for it, we certainly have a chance to beat them.”
The Gators will have a shot at the upset but it’s going to be a bit tougher since they’ll be playing on the road in Knoxville. Neyland Stadium will be fired up for this one since Vols fans will want to see their team get back on track.
Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
