It’s about that time.
We’re now single digit days away from Tennessee baseball’s 2025 campaign. The Volunteers will open their title defense season with a three-game series against Hofstra next weekend (Feb 14-16).
Once again, they’ll be dealing with big expectations.
It’s a reloaded roster for Tony Vitello this year with Christian Moore, Blake Burke, Billy Amick, Dylan Dreiling, Kavares Tears and others already off to the pro levels. Vitello has countered by hitting the portal to pull in Louisville INF Gavin Kilen, Ole Miss 3B Andrew Fisher and Ole Miss starter Liam Doyle. Tennessee also returns familiar names like Nate Snead, Dean Curley, Hunter Ensley and Cannon Peebles, to name a few.
Curley, Snead and Doyle were named to the SEC’s first-team on Thursday. Kilen, Fischer and Ensley were all named to the second-team roster.
As for the media picks, Tennessee was picked second in the conference. Just like the national polls, the Volunteers trail Texas A&M after beating them last season for the National Championship. Each team had six members named to the All-SEC teams.
