The Volunteers take advantage of a couple of upsets.
A couple of big upsets threw a wrench into the college football season on Saturday. First it was Miami going down to Georgia Tech, then it was Ole Miss knocking off Georgia. Both outcomes obviously helped Tennessee, which held serve against Mississippi State.
Tennessee is up to No. 4 in the coaches poll, and they moved to No. 6 in the AP Poll. Georgia, who Tennessee will travel to next week, tumbled down to No. 10 and No. 11. Miami moved down to No. 12 in both polls.
The second version of the College Football Playoff rankings will come out on Tuesday night, where we’ll also see an updated projected bracket.
