Tennessee is still the No. 1 team in the nation after today’s top 25 reveal. The AP voters updated their rankings, keeping the 11-0 Volunteers at the top spot. Tennessee is in good shape to stay there at least through the beginning of conference play, which begins at the top of the new year.
The Volunteers have MTSU tonight, followed by Norfolk State on New Year’s Eve.
Auburn remains at No. 2 with Tennessee narrowly beating them out for the top spot. The Tigers received 21 first place votes after another ranked win over Purdue. Alabama re-entered the top five followed by Florida, which remains undefeated, at No. 6. Kentucky falls to No. 10 after losing to Ohio State on Saturday.
Undefeated Oklahoma is up to No. 12 while Ole Miss is up to No. 16. John Calipari’s Arkansas team re-enters the top 25, checking in at No. 23.
