Another three-game series on deck.
Tennessee baseball is ready for another weekend of action, this time stepping up in competition level. The Volunteers will welcome Samford to Knoxville for a three-game series on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It will be the first ever official meeting between the two programs.
Samford is one of the nation’s best mid-major programs, winning five SoCon titles since 2018. The Bulldogs swept Valparaiso last weekend, but fell to Jacksonville State on the road on Tuesday.
Tennessee has yet to be challenged, winning their first four games by a combined score of 75-6. The Volunteers rocked UNC-Asheville on Tuesday, homering five times on their way to a 29-4 win.
They’ll get things going this afternoon at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, moving up the first pitch a couple of hours due to the cold.
