Can the Volunteers pull another big time prospect?
Tennessee basketball is in on another big time prospect. Darius Adams, who recently decommitted from UConn, has a Zoom meeting scheduled with the Volunteers according to Mike Wilson at the Knoxville News Sentinel.
Five-star guard Darius Adams and Tennessee will hold a Zoom meeting in the coming days.

The 6-4, 170 pound guard prospect was a top target of Tennessee during his initial recruitment, but Adams eventually chose UConn. However, after Dan Hurley added a couple of guards out of the transfer portal, Adams opted to look elsewhere for more playing time.
Tennessee, Michigan State and Indiana were all finalist for Adams when he committed. Alabama could also be involved this time around.
Tennessee has a need (maybe two) at guard to round out its 2025-26 roster. The Volunteers have picked up Maryland point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie and Vanderbilt power forward Jaylen Carey so far in the transfer portal. They’ve also added five-star, No. 4 overall prep prospect Nate Ament — an expected lottery pick in the NBA Draft next year.
A couple of guards, particularly a couple that can shoot, would round out this rotation nicely.
Adams can do just that. The combo guard prospect shot 41 percent from long range during Nike’s EYBL season as a junior. That number dropped to 32 percent as a senior, however. Adams would give Tennessee another playmaking guard to go along with Gillespie, complete with length and defensive ability that Rick Barnes covets.
Tennessee had also shown interest in Oklahoma guard Duke Miles, but Miles committed to Texas A&M yesterday. Adams now becomes the top target on the board for Tennessee, who will be hoping the second time is the charm.
