Tennessee is in the market to add several guards.
One of the top options in the transfer portal is set to visit Tennessee next week. According to a report from Mike Wilson, the Volunteers will host former Virginia guard Isaac McKneely on Tuesday.

Tennessee is obviously in the market to add several guards for next season, with Chaz Lanier, Zakai Zeigler, Jahmai Mashack and Jordan Gainey set to exit the program. It sounds like Rick Barnes is set on returning next season, and he’ll need to replace a lot of scoring and production if he does.
McKneely would fit that bill. The 6-4 shooting guard connected on 101 three-pointers as a junior last season, hitting 42.1 percent of his attempts. He shot over 44 percent as a sophomore. McKneely averaged 14.4 points per game this season for the Cavaliers.
Barnes has laid out a clear blueprint for transfer shooters over the past couple of seasons, taking both Dalton Knect and Chaz Lanier to new heights. The recruiting pitch for McKneely writes itself here.
Tennessee is currently only bringing back the seldom-used freshman Bishop Boswell in the backcourt. The Volunteers have signed four-star guard Amari Evans and three-star point guard Troy Henderson in the class of 2025. Needless to say, Tennessee will have to sign a handful of guards out of the portal.
The Volunteers have also been connected to Purdue Fort Wayne guard Jalen Jackson.
So Tennessee, still full steam ahead in their NCAA Tournament run for the time being, is also juggling the transfer portal. It seems like there could be a better time frame to open the portal, but that’s just me.
Expect to hear several more options for Tennessee to emerge in the coming days.
