The Tennessee Volunteers look to follow up an impressive series win last weekend against Ole Miss with one against a team that might not be highly ranked, but is still important to Tennessee fans. The Vols and Kentucky Wildcats will face off in a three-game series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium starting on Friday night.
The Vols enter the series as the #2/4 team in the country at 32-5 overall record and with a 11-4 mark in the SEC, which is currently third behind Texas (14-2) and Arkansas (12-4). Kentucky is 20-14 with a 6-9 record in the conference. The Wildcats are coming off a battle in Lexington last weekend against the Longhorns. Texas took the series two to one, but the Wildcats won the middle game 5-4 in 15 innings and dropped the rubber match 5-4. Accordingly, this could be a tougher series than things might look on paper for Tennessee.
The SEC availability report shows the Wildcats with two players trending towards out in OF Will Marcy (out) and INF Ethan Hindle (doubtful). Tennessee has RHP Brayden Kendle listed as out, but everyone else is off the report aside from the still-ineligible Alberto Osuna.
