Alabama defensive back Malachi Moore has apologized to Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia after his antics during the late stages of last Saturday’s game.
He got too heated and kicked the football after officials made the spot during Vanderbilt’s game-winning drive. He then shoved Pavia on the game’s final play.
Moore apologized for his actions before reaching out to Pavia personally and apologizing to him.
“He (Moore) reached out to me on Instagram and texted me, and he apologized for what he did,” Pavia told Paul Finebaum on “The Paul Finebaum Show,” via The Tennessean. “I can respect that. I can respect him. He’s a great football player and he wants to win at all costs. That’s a thing we need here on our football team at Vanderbilt. He’s a special player, he made a lot of tackles and made a lot of plays. The future is bright for him and I wish him nothing but success. God bless him.”
The two teams had a great back-and-forth game but it ended in a 40-35 win for Vanderbilt. After the win, Vanderbilt fans took down the goalposts and carried them around Nashville.
The win got Vanderbilt to 3-2 overall and the team will try and get to 4-2 with a win against Kentucky on Saturday night.
Kickoff will be at 7:45 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
