Homecoming is usually a day reserved for big crowds, especially in the SEC.
That’s not the case at Vanderbilt today, where the Commodores’ matchup with Auburn has been rather sparsely attended, at least by the home fans.
Major renovations have limited the capacity for FirstBank Stadium all season long, but even so, the crowd at kickoff this afternoon was a paltry one.
The most noticeable fan contingent was there to watch the visitors, clad in Auburn blue and orange. Take a look.

Vanderbilt came into the game at 2-7 on the year, having lost seven in a row after beating Hawaii and Alabama A&M to begin the season.
The Commodores lost their first five SEC games by an average of 20.2 points per contest, so we can understand why fans might not be flocking to the game in droves.
Through two quarters today, Vandy trails Auburn 17-7. The Tigers (4-4) need this win in order to have a shot at bowl eligibility heading into their final three games of the season against Arkansas, New Mexico State and Alabama.
