Vanderbilt has secured its third commitment of the transfer portal season.
TCU transfer Frankie Collins will play for Vanderbilt next season, he announced on his Instagram on Thursday.
The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 11.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game in just nine games played in his senior year. Collins has played four seasons in college but retains eligibility via a medical redshirt. Vanderbilt will play Collins’ fourth team in five years.
“WINNING!!! and making everyone around me happy and better as a person, player, coach, etc,” Collins said to ZAGSBLOG on why he chose Vanderbilt. “Just overall leaving the place better than when I came. I’m excited, and we should do big things.”
Vanderbilt went 8-10 in the brutal SEC conference and was eliminated in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. They have also landed UNC transfer Jalen Washington and Mason Nicholson as they look to raise their ceiling in college basketball’s toughest conference next season.
