Michigan State transfer AJ Hoggard is headed to Vanderbilt, he announced Saturday.
The 6-foot-4 point guard averaged 10.7 points, 5.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds last year in his final season under coach Tom Izzo.
“For me it was definitely the fit,” he said on The Field of 68. “I’ve got one more shot at it. The ultimate goal was to get to the league, that’s where they’re giving out the most money at anyway.”
Hoggard joins guard MJ Collins (Va. Tech), guard/forward Tyler Nickel (Va. Tech), guard Grant Huffman (Davidson), forward Jaylen Carey, guard Jason Edwards (North Texas) and guard Devin McGlockton (Boston College) as incoming transfers under new coach Mark Byington.
