Nothing good came of Sunday’s embarrassing defeat to the Commanders
The Tennessee Titans were humbled by the Washington Commanders on Sunday, losing 42-19. Dennard Wilson’s defense played their worst game of the season, as the Commanders offense racked up 463 yards of offense. Special teams continues to be an abomination, with Jha’Quan Jackson losing another fumble.
Arguably the worst part about Sunday’s outcome is that the Titans didn’t even move up the 2025 NFL Draft order. The Titans entered the Commanders showdown with the No. 6 overall selection and they actually fell one spot to seventh overall.

Every single team that entered Week 13 in front of the Titans in the draft order also lost on Sunday. Perhaps most annoyingly, the New England Patriots (No. 4) and New York Jets (No. 6) blew late leads, ultimately staying ahead of the Titans. The Carolina Panthers (No. 5) were defeated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in overtime. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Giants are 2-10, tied for the league-worst record.
The Titans are considered Week 14 favorites versus the Jaguars. The Jaguars have lost five consecutive contests and head coach Doug Pederson is expected to be relieved of his duties at the conclusion of this season. Furthermore, starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence exited Sunday’s contest with a scary-looking concussion injury and is extremely unlikely to play versus the Titans. Brian Callahan’s club could win their fourth game, dropping further down the draft order.
The Titans possess various winnable contests on their remaining schedule. They play Jacksonville twice, and have two additional divisional showdowns on the docket versus the Houston Texans (who they’ve already beaten) and the Indianapolis Colts (who they barely lost to). Yet if the Titans keep playing like they did versus the Commanders, they’ll lose several of them.
