As DeAndre Hopkins continues his free-agent process, three teams are reportedly still in the mix for the veteran wide receiver.
The New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans have been the perceived favorites to land Hopkins over the last few weeks, but the Kansas City Chiefs have also been in contact as the 2023 NFL season approaches.
“The Chiefs have kept in contact,” ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler recently reported, “and they have, certainly, some interest.”
Both the Patriots and Titans have the flexibility to offer Hopkins more money this offseason, but the Chiefs give the 31-year-old wideout a more immediate opportunity to win.
D-Hop is reportedly looking for a contract similar to the one-year, $15 million deal that Odell Beckham Jr. landed with the Baltimore Ravens, per Tim Graham of The Athletic.
Hopkins took visits with both the Titans and Patriots earlier this offseason, but has not taken any visit with the Chiefs.
Any potential signing for Hopkins will likely occur just before the start of training camp later this month.
