NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Titans head coach Brian Callahan confirmed that he will be the offensive play caller this upcoming season.
Knowing Callahan’s track record with quarterbacks, how excited is he about second year quarterback Will Levis?
Very.
“I thought that was a really good player coming out of college,” said Callahan during his introductory press conference.
Callahan said he’s been able to talk to Levis a few times and can’t wait to work with him.
He characterized Levis as a player that has a lot of of really special physical talents.
According to Callahan, Levis being the franchise QB was attractive to him.
“I thought when you watch him play this year, you saw a really good growth. I mean, you saw him learn the NFL is hard. It’s hard on quarterbacks, it’s particularly hard on young ones, and so I saw a lot of really positive things. Some of the throws, some of his competitive instincts that he put on tape were really impressive, and so I’m excited to get to dive more into that and how can he get better from year to year to keep putting in position to have success and so we can score some points on offense.”
Callahan said he also plans to score points on offense by embracing something that has been at the core of this franchise for decades, a physical run game.
