The 2024 NFL season is in the books and while draft and free agency prep is underway in team facilities, the Tennessee Titans have been rather quiet in recent days.
The lack of noise is frustrating, not only for fans but for analysts who can only do so many mock drafts in a week. That should change in the coming weeks with the combine and free agency on the horizon.
Analyst Chris Trapasso from CBS Sports decided to take a look back at the 2024 draft class and see how these classes have worked out for all 32 teams by ranking them. Here’s what he said about Tennessee.
11. Tennessee Titans
Year 1 hits: C JC Latham, NT T’Vondre Sweat
Neither Latham nor Sweat were outstanding. But two hits is better than one in these rankings, and Sweat gave us one of the highlights of the season with his interception (fumble) return late in the year.
Trapasso definitely got it right with Latham and Sweat, both are foundational pieces and a hit.
The absence of cornerback Jarvis Brownlee for a hit cannot be overlooked. Brownlee stepped up when thrust into action and exceeded expectations as a rookie and looks like he has a solid future ahead in Nashville. The Titans also added some young talent who gained some valuable experience down the stretch that will benefit them moving forward.
Coming in at 11th may be a bit low, but that is open to debate. What is not debatable is that the team needs another similar draft class to help them crawl out of the cellar. Will it happen? We will all find out at the NFL draft in April.
