Chris “Mad Dog” Russo believes its time for the Dallas Cowboys to take a big swing at the trade deadline to land themselves a running back.
During his regular Wednesday appearance on ESPN’s “First Take,” Russo laid out his argument for why the Cowboys should go after Derrick Henry before Oct. 31; who he calls a “great football player” even at this stage of his career.
How ’bout Derrick Henry? I think they need a running back. Pollard is a great change-of-pace guy… They need a guy to give them 20-25 carries a game, on the road, in a big spot, move the chains, play four-minute football and Tennessee’s going nowhere. … I would think Henry is available. I still think he’s got some tread on the tires. He’s a Hall of Fame running back. This is a great football player and Dallas needs a back.

The Titans have gotten off to a 2-4 start and there are serious questions about not only the future but the present.
Henry is still top 10 in the league in rushing with 425 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 4.3 yards per carry. It seems like a hand-in-glove fit for a Dallas team that could use another dimension.
