Time to sell off anyone of value
The Tennessee Titans gave Calvin Ridley a $90 million contract this offseason. Through five games he has given them a line of 9/141/1. Now, of course, not all of that is Ridley’s fault. His countless drops are his fault, but there was much made of the lack of chemistry between Will Levis and Ridley in training camp. The concerns were not overblown.
The Titans dropped to 1-4 with their 20-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts today. Tony Pollard has been great. He ran for 97 yards and a touchdown today. The rest of the skill guys have been really bad. The offensive line actually gave Levis time today, but it didn’t matter. He was 16 of 27 for 95 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Brian Callahan clearly doesn’t trust Levis. It’s hard to blame him with the way Levis is playing. He had another terrible turnover today where he stared down the receiver and floated a ball that gave the safety time to get over there for the interception.
The defense, with the exception of L’Jarius Sneed, played well enough to win today. Sneed has been terrible all year. The only reason we aren’t talking about it more is because there have been quite a few balls overthrown by the opposing quarterback that would have been touchdowns with Sneed in coverage. He gave up a touchdown today and had a huge penalty that allowed a drive to be extended.
There will be plenty more to say about this game in the coming days.
