The Tennessee Titans will be turning over every stone in search of a quarterback this offseason. That process continues this weekend at the East-West Shrine Bowl, where they will get an up-close look at one of the top quarterback prospects in Shedeur Sanders.
Sanders is a polarizing prospect in some circles. Talented with athleticism and instincts, he does have the tools to be a dynamic player in the NFL, but there are questions. One of the biggest centers on his father, Hall of Famer Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders.
In fact, questions concerning the influence his father will have on his draft status have already become a topic at the Shrine Bowl. The Titans got a chance to experience all that comes with Shedeur when dad Deion crashed their interview session.

Titans reporter Jim Wyatt outlined the experience and what took place during the interview, when Deion FaceTimed his son a few times. The Titans’ contingent embraced this bond between father and son and played along.
“He kept calling me,” Sanders said with a smile. “I told him at the end: It’s over with. I have to soar on my own. Of course, he is missing me right now. (The Titans) were welcoming, and they love the fact that I have a great relationship with my father.”
The bond between Shedeur and his father is easy to see and is something that could turn some teams off. At this point, it is hard to tell how much this will impact his status with Tennessee, but it is something that will be worth monitoring as draft preparations ramp up.
