The Tennessee Titans have fallen to 3-7 on the season with the second-worst record in the AFC and the sixth-worst record in the NFL. Their struggles have really weighed on star running back Derrick Henry.
After Sunday’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Henry was asked if the fall to 3-7 felt like the Titans had hit “rock bottom.” The former rushing champion admitted that he doesn’t know what rock bottom feels like but conceded that what the team has put forward on Sundays is simply not good enough.
“I don’t know what rock bottom feels like, but… whoo, yeah man, it’s tough. It’s definitely tough,” Henry said, via CBS Sports. “We just haven’t been good enough — I’m making no excuse. We haven’t been good enough as a team and that’s what happens in this league. it’s a grown-man’s league, so it ain’t good enough.”
Henry is in the midst of his worst season since 2018, averaging 66.3 yards per game. While he should still go over 1,000 yards this season, he hasn’t gotten a ton of help from the rest of the team.
The Tennessee Titans offense ranks 27th in points scored and yards on offense. Defensively they’re not exactly stout, ranking in the bottom half in the league for nearly all categories.
The Titans have a fairly winnable game against the Carolina Panthers this weekend. But if they lose again, they might not win again for the rest of the season.
What will Tennessee’s final record be?
