The Dallas Cowboys lost their starting running back from last season to the Tennessee Titans when the legal tampering period started on Monday.
Tony Pollard signed a three-year deal with the Titans to be their next starting running back and according to ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio, the deal is worth $21.75 million.
It was originally reported that Pollard’s deal was worth $24 million but that was false. However, he can get up to that number if he gets $750K in incentives by suiting up for every regular season game.
Pollard had been with the Cowboys for the last five seasons before signing with the Titans. He finished the 2023 season with 252 carries for 1,005 yards and six touchdowns.
This was his second straight 1,000-yard season after he finished the 2022 season with 1,007 yards and nine touchdowns. For his career, he has compiled 762 carries for 3,621 yards and 23 touchdowns.
He’ll now try and help the Titans turn things around after they missed the playoffs this past season. He’ll be replacing Derrick Henry, who signed a two-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens earlier this week.
Henry had been with the Titans for the last eight seasons.
