ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Eagles are hiring former Bowling Green State HC Scot Loeffler as their QB coach.
Philadelphia had a vacancy after former OC Kellen Moore took the Saints HC job and former Eagles QB coach Doug Nussmeier was promoted in Moore’s place.
Loeffler, 50, was a quarterback at Michigan from 1993-1996 and started his coaching career there as a student assistant and graduate assistant from 1996-1999. Central Michigan later hired him as their QB coach for two seasons.
Loffler returned to Michigan as the QB coach from 2002-2007 and spent one season in the NFL as the Lions QB coach. He spent two years with Florida as the QB coach before stopping at Temple, Auburn, Virginia Tech and Boston College as the offensive coordinator/QB coach.
In 2019, Loeffler was hired to be the head coach at Bowling Green State University.
At Bowling Green, Loeffler posted a record of 27-41 with three bowl appearances in the last three years. He also led the Falcons to one MAC championship game appearance in 2022.
