It sounds like longtime Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry will have a new home for the 2024 season.
While on “SportsCenter” this Saturday morning, ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler provided the latest on Henry’s future.
Fowler made it abundantly clear that Henry isn’t expected to re-sign with the Titans. He could, however, remain in the AFC.
As of now, the Baltimore Ravens are considered a suitor for Henry. They have a need at running back, that’s for sure.
“I was told from multiple sources that he’s not expected to return to the Titans. It looks like he’s going to have some interest elsewhere and will go sign with a contender,” Fowler said. “Baltimore is a team I’ve heard a little bit of. They’ve done all the homework on the top running backs. If they find the right price, he could be in the AFC North.”
Pairing Henry with Lamar Jackson would be quite interesting. On the flip side, that would spell trouble for all 31 other teams.
Even at this stage in Henry’s career, he remains a big-time playmaker. He finished the 2023 season with 1,167 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on 280 attempts.
Jackson was the leading rusher for the Ravens this past season with 821 yards. Gus Edwards was right behind him with 810 rushing yards.
Suffice to say, the Ravens can use a running back like Henry on their roster.
