It was a big weekend for The Ohio State University as six Buckeyes heard their names called on Draft Day. But at least one more Buckeye is about to see his NFL dream come to life as a UDFA.
On Saturday night, former Ohio State defensive tackle Haskell Garrett announced he is signing with the Tennessee Titans. In his tweet, he declared that he has “the biggest chip on my shoulder” after going undrafted.
“God has a plan for me, I appreciate all the love and support BuckeyeNation!!! Got the biggest chip on my shoulder more than ever. Blessed to be a Tennessee Titan!!” Garrett wrote.
Garrett won’t be the only Buckeyes alum suiting up for the Titans this year. He’ll be joining former teammate Nicholas Petit-Frere, who went in the third round of the draft.
His new head coach, Mike Vrabel, is a former Buckeye himself.

Haskell Garrett was named a team captain for the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2021 and promptly had his best season. He had 22 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks – all career-highs.
At the end of the season, Garrett earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors. He did not play in the Rose Bowl in preparation for the draft.
There are bound to be a few other Buckeyes who sign NFL contracts before the weekend is over. We’ll be keeping an eye out.
Will Haskell Garrett make an impact in Tennessee as a rookie.
