If you thought things couldn’t get worse, Marcus Mariota was outstanding on Sunday!
The Tennessee Titans were flat-out embarrassed by the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Taking a look around the league at how ex Tennessee players are performing will not improve your mood, either. Former Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota was forced to play in relief on an injured Jayden Daniels for the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Mariota was outstanding.

Daniels left the game with a ribs injury. Mariota completed 18-of-23 passing attempts for 205 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Mariota did not commit a turnover, and the dual-threat scrambler added 34 rushing yards to his offensive totals. He helped oversee a dominant 40-7 victory over the hapless Carolina Panthers.
The Titans have not had a quarterback avoid a turnover all season. Mariota proved he’s still capable of playing quarterback at a high level when placed in the right environment. Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury has been outstanding all season long, possibly positioning Daniels for Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.
Mariota’s performance proves that a well-designed offense and expert play-calling can elevate talent. The Titans don’t have that in Tennessee right now. If Mariota can do it without time to prepare, why can’t Brian Callahan get Will Levis and Mason Rudolph playing at a higher level?
