“He reminds me of Mahomes” Louis Riddick on Cam Ward

I think the Titans would be OK with that outcome

Louis Riddick is a big fan of Cam Ward. Yesterday, on NFL Live on ESPN, Riddick said that Ward reminded him of Patrick Mahomes:

That would be a pretty good outcome for the Tennessee Titans, I’d say. Of course, the most likely scenario is that Ward is not anywhere close to as good as Mahomes, because how many people on the planet are? But, it makes sense to take a shot on a guy that does have being a star in his range of outcomes.

At the start of this process, I was firmly entrenched in the “trade down” camp, but now it does really feel like the smart thing to do is to take Ward. The franchise believes in Bill Callahan’s ability to develop a quarterback. That’s one of the main reasons he was hired. It didn’t work out with Will Levis. We will find out in the coming years how much of that was on Levis and how much of that was on Callahan.
