Here we go!
Mike Vrabel loves Jeffery Simmons. Jeffery Simmons loves Mike Vrabel. They made no secret about that when they were both with the Tennessee Titans. Well, in case somehow you missed it yesterday, the New England Patriots hired Mike Vrabel as their head coach. That prompted a Patriots fan yesterday to say that the Patriots should start the Vrabel era by trading for Jeffery Simmons. Big Jeff “liked” the tweet”

Mike Herndon tweeted this in response:
The Titans probably should trade Simmons tbh https://t.co/hNa3OgdX08

I agree with Mike here. Simmons is a really good player, but he has not lived up to the contract he signed before the 2023 season with just 10.5 sacks total in the past two seasons. There are probably some PFF numbers that suggest he has been better than that, but he’s paid to get the quarterback on the ground and stop the run. The Titans certainly didn’t do that last season.
Chad Brinker should be on the phone with Vrabel now asking what they would be willing to give the Titans for Simmons. This team is a couple of years away from being a legitimate contender. Big Jeff will be on the decline by that point. If Vrabel and company want to send the Titans a second-round pick in this draft for Simmons, pull the trigger and add some young talent to this team.
