The 2025 NFL free agency period begins in less than three weeks. The two-day negotiating period begins on March 10, and teams can begin to sign free agents at 4 p.m. EDT on March 12.
The Tennessee Titans have their work cut out for them this offseason. Their primary focus is solidifying the offensive line, nailing down their quarterback, and bolstering their run defense. Recently, ESPN’s Matt Bowen predicted the best fit for the top 50 free agents in 2025, and the Titans came up twice.
27. Malcolm Koonce, Edge
Best team fit: Tennessee TitansTitans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson needs an impact edge rusher to complement his two interior defenders — Jeffery Simmons and T’Vondre Sweat. A knee injury in early September erased Koonce’s 2024 season before it started, but he posted eight sacks and 29 pressures in 2023. If the knee checks out, Koonce would have upside in Wilson’s system as a three-down defender with pass-rush chops.
He also recorded 32 solo tackles and five stuffs in 2023. There’s not much to go on here, but if he’s healthy and can return to pre-injury form, he could definitely be worth bringing in.
35. Kevin Zeitler, G
Best team fit: Tennessee TitansThe Titans need to rebuild the right side of their offensive line, and they can start by adding a proven vet in Zeitler. He is a physical inside presence with the power to displace defensive tackles and the movement ability to pull on gap schemes. He routinely wins in pass protection, using his strong base to hold off interior rushers and posting a pass block win rate of 94.4% with Detroit last season.
Zeitler isn’t just good at his job, he’s been doing it successfully since 2012 and went to the Pro Bowl in January 2024. The Titans desperately need an upgraded offensive line, and Zeitler could be the answer.
