He’s flying away with all that money!
Back on October 13th, the Tennessee Titans lost 20-17 to the Indianapolis Colts. L’Jarius Sneed started and finished the game and he was terrible. Apparently he hurt his quad at some point during the game.
Sneep popped up on the injury report the following Wednesday, but it was said that there was a chance he could play that week. Fast forward to now, and Brian Callahan has already ruled Sneed out for the game against the Houston Texans this week. We are now six weeks past the injury and there is no sign of him getting back on the field. What is going on?
It’s a question that no one really has an answer for. Some people are saying that it’s really the knee that is bothering him. Some people are saying that he could be out there but doesn’t want to play in a lost season. Some people are saying it’s a quad injury that is just taking longer to heal than originally expected.
Whatever the case, the Titans need Sneed back on the field. They gave up a third round pick and signed him to a massive contract extension this offseason. He is part of their plans for the now and the future. It would be neat to see a little return on that investment.
The only good that has come out of this is that the Titans are getting an extended look at guys like Jarvis Brownlee and Darrell Baker – two young corners who have flashed some potential. Those guys don’t have the upside that Sneed has but could be valuable role players for them in the future.
