Why did Will Levis play against the Colts?
Paul Kuharsky reported last night that Mason Rudolph will get the start for the Tennessee Titans today against the Buffalo Bills. Adam Schefter later reported that Will Levis has a grade two AC sprain which is usually a 4 to 5 week injury. He hurt his shoulder three weeks ago.
I have no issue with them turning to Rudolph with Levis not being 100%. What I don’t understand is why Levis played last week against the Indianapolis Colts. He mentioned in his press conference after the game that the shoulder affected his ability to throw the ball down the field. Now they are calling him week to week.
Rudolph might give them a better chance to win even with Levis fully healthy, but he definitely does if Levis is still hurting. Hopefully Brian Callahan will get asked that question in the post game press conference today.
It will be interesting to see where things go from here. If Rudolph is good today, there will be pressure to keep him in there even when Levis is ready to go.
Trevor Siemian will be the Titans back-up today.
