The 2025 NFL offseason is officially underway with all 32 teams now focused on a single goal: Super Bowl 60 in Santa Clara, California.
The Tennessee Titans open the offseason as extreme longshots for the big game, but there is always hope. It seems like every season, a team that selected in the top five of the NFL draft turns it around and makes the playoffs. That team very well could be the Tennessee Titans in 2025, if they can fix a multitude of issues on their roster and improve their coaching.
With 2024 in the books, it is also time for media outlets to start looking ahead and providing fans with their way-too-early takes on everything. Conor Orr at Sports Illustrated did just that in his latest piece.
1. Tennessee Titans
The Titans will start Mac Jones for at least two games next year. I don’t need to know how it’ll happen. I don’t need to know why it will happen. All I know is that Jones will start two games for the Titans … and that he’ll win one of them. And that Jones will start at least one game for another team at some point next season as well. Also, the Titans will have at least a full week of the NFL offseason. Titans football, baby!
It’s an entertaining take and one that is feasibly possible, although if it does happen it was likely another disappointing season in Nashville.
The Titans are in the market for a quarterback and Mac Jones will be a free agent. However, based on this projection, Tennessee will at least be his second team in 2025. While many believe that Jones will move on from Jacksonville this offseason, this is the first time the Titans have appeared anywhere in the speculation.
Jones very well could end up with the Titans, as they have a need and he is a free agent. At this point, anything is possible, so to steal a term popularized in Nascar circles, welcome to the silly season.
