Come on, Brian!
After the game yesterday, Brian Callahan said there were a lot of positive things the Tennessee Titans did in the 10-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. For the most part, Callahan has been great at the podium. This was a terrible angle to take. Your offense just failed to score a touchdown and get to 200 yards passing against the worst defense in the entire NFL.
From the outside, it feels like things are starting to come apart a little bit inside the Titans locker room. Just take last week when Jeffery Simmons said a 3-9 team was hungover from success. This week Simmons is in there talking about how the defense did enough to win the game. While he’s not wrong, those comments speak to some bigger issues that could be happening behind closed doors.
Callahan was always going to have an uphill battle this season. He inherited a quarterback that quite frankly isn’t very good, but we had all hoped that he was going to be able to give him opportunities to succeed. While the last few weeks have been better for Levis, they still cannot consistently score points.
We also haven’t seen the improvement in the offense line we hoped for when it was announced that Bill Callahan was joining the staff. Bill is unquestionably a really good offensive line coach so it is clear they have personnel issues up front, but he hasn’t made those guys much better as the season goes along.
Were there positives yesterday? Sure, but you are right Brian, no one cares about that right now.
