Sebastian Joseph-Day, Tennessee Titans, Agree to Contract
While the Tennessee Titans themselves had a rough 2024, Sebastian Joseph-Day made the most of his one-year contract. Appearing in all 17 games while making 12 starts, the veteran finished the season with 2.5 sacks, 44 tackles, three tackles-for-loss, six quarterback hits, and a 70.3 PFF grade, the 23rd-best mark out of 118 eligible players. Despite the reliable play, the Titans finished the season with the worst record in football and earned the first-overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Sebastian Joseph-Day originally entered the league as a sixth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Selected by the Los Angeles Rams, the Rutgers product made the roster but didn’t play a single snap as a rookie. However, overcame this slow start and earned a starting job on the defensive line in 2019. Starting opposite Aaron Donald, the rookie finished his inaugural season with two sacks, 44 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, and five quarterback hits. The Rams finished the season with a winning record but narrowly missed the playoffs.
Following two more strong seasons with the Rams, Sebastian Joseph-Day signed a new three-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers. Unfortunately, he couldn’t maintain his high level of play in a new environment, as he struggled throughout his two seasons with the club. Los Angeles cut him late in 2023 and he spent the final two games of the regular season with the San Francisco 49ers. With his help, the team made it to the Super Bowl but lost in overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Since signing his rookie contract, Sebastian Joseph-Day has appeared in 88 games while making 80 starts. While on the field, the former sixth-round pick recorded 13.5 sacks, 273 tackles, 24 tackles-for-loss, and 37 quarterback hits.
