The Tennessee Titans decided to end the Mike Vrabel era on Tuesday morning by firing the coach instead of potentially looking at trades.
Per The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the team felt it was too difficult to try to find a trade partner and instead decided to just rip the band-aid off.
According to the senior NFL insider: “The Titans believed trading Vrabel was too complicated and would take too long, per sources. They wanted to move on quickly. I was told Vrabel never asked ownership for a trade or asked out of Tennessee.”

Fans were a bit shocked by the report on social media.
“the titans fired a coach they could’ve gotten nice draft capital for because they were lazy. This is embarrassing,” a user laughed.

“There are 32 NFL teams and one of them is apparently run by people who pass up opportunities to make their team better if doing so is ‘too complicated,'” replied Rodger Sherman.

Vrabel hits the open market with rumored links to the Patriots job if New England decides to part ways with his former coach and mentor Bill Belichick.
