When it comes to the NFL draft, quarterbacks are always selected high. Typically, the teams at the bottom of the league that are drafting at the top need a reliable leader under center, which is why they fell to the bottom of the league in the first place.
The 2025 NFL draft is no different. The Tennessee Titans have the No. 1 overall pick and everyone under the sun predicts them to select either Miami’s Cam Ward or Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders with the top pick.
But the Titans haven’t decided what they’re doing with that pick, and apparently haven’t even made up their minds on the quarterback prospects.
#1 thing everybody involved is looking for in these evals is a strong nervous system. What’s between the ears?
Getting these guys in the classroom and on a field in person are how they evaluate that, as well as talking background with people in their circles. That all happens…

This is based on multiple public (you really gotta go listen to all the interviews in the past month!) and private conversations from sources I’m not going to name.
Hope that’s satisfactory for you and your weird accusations of pretense.

The Titans have been extremely quiet about their plans for the No. 1 overall pick. It’s no secret that they plan to address the quarterback position, but they may choose to do that in free agency rather than the draft. As of right now, they clearly haven’t made any decisions on that top pick.
Both Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are viable options with the first pick in the draft, but there are other quarterbacks they could consider and trade down to gain more draft capital. We won’t know until they tell us.
