Could the Tennessee Titans go from Mike Vrabel to Bill Belichick as their next head coach?
The answer seems to be a decisive “no.”
According to NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, neither Belichick nor Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh are on the Titans’ list of candidates to be their next head coach. But while that would seem to be an aversion to defensive-minded coaches, Russini noted that they are not dead-set on taking someone who specializes on one side of the ball.
“Both Jim Harbaugh and Bill Belichick are NOT on the Titans’ candidate list, per source. The team is open to a coach who specializes on either side of the ball. There is no specific criteria in that regard,” Russini wrote.
Some believe that the issue is less about the Titans having interest in them and more about those coaches having no interest in the Titans.

“Who wants to coach in that disaster? Firing Vrabel sent red flags up all around the league,” one user replied.
“Per sources: Jim Harbaugh and Bill Belichick are NOT interested in the Titan’s job so they won’t be on the list of Titans’ candidate list,” another corrected.
“I read this as both those guys want control (or at least major influence) over the roster and Amy has made it clear that she does not want that set up here in Tennessee,” a third user noted.
Will the Titans wind up getting their ideal candidate?
