DeAndre Hopkins is reportedly expected to join the Tennessee Titans.
Doug Kyed of AtoZ Sports first revealed that a deal could become official within the next few days. NFL Ian Rapoport said Hopkins is receiving a two-year, $26 million contract worth up to $32 million with incentives.
Responding to the news, Robert Griffin III approved of Tennessee adding a much-needed top receiver.
“DeAndre Hopkins solves a lot of problems the Tennesse Titans created when they traded AJ Brown,” Griffin wrote. “Giving Ryan Tannehill, Malik Willis and or Will Levis a true #1 WR to punish defenses with when they load the box to stop Derrick Henry. D-Hop will make the jobs of Treylon Burks and a crew of young skill players much easier because now they can develop against more favorable matchups and coverages with D-Hop drawing coverages and attention away from them.”

Tennessee’s passing offense dwindled to 30th last season after trading Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles. Burks had a modest rookie campaign, but his 33 catches and 444 receiving yards are still the most among returning Titans wideouts.
Hopkins, who has averaged 77.9 receiving yards per game across his 10-year career, provides a legitimate top target to take the pressure off Burks. Perhaps the 31-year-old can help steer Tennessee back into playoff contention after ending 2022 on a seven-game losing streak.
