The Ryan Tannehill era of Tennessee Titans football appears to have ended unceremoniously after head coach Mike Vrabel announced that rookie Will Levis will be the team’s new starter.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Tannehill was asked about the new change. He had just three words to describe how it felt:
“It hit hard,” he said, via Joe Rexrode of The Athletic Nashville.
Tannehill missed two games with an injury, during which Levis stepped in and threw for more touchdowns than Tannehill had in the first six weeks combined. With his contract expiring at the end of the season, it’s highly unlikely that he will play another game for the Titans barring an injury to Levis.

Ryan Tannehill joined the Tennessee Titans during the 2019 season after six years with the Miami Dolphins. He went 7-3 as a starter, making the Pro Bowl and winning Comeback Player of the Year honors while leading the Titans all the way to the AFC Championship Game.
Over the next two seasons he would lead the Titans to the playoffs two more times.
If his time in Tennessee is truly over, he’ll leave with a 38-23 record and as the team’s all-time leader in completion percentage.
Will this be Tannehill’s final season in Tennessee? Will it be his final NFL season?
