The Titans attended the much-anticipated Colorado Pro Day on Friday afternoon, with numerous executives and staff in attendance. Interestingly, as previously mentioned, Tennessee’s top decision-maker and head coach were not part of the group. Did the Tennessee Titans chart their course with the draft’s second-best passer, Shedeur Sanders?
Tennessee Titans Chart Course With Shedeur Sanders
Per Jim Wyatt of the team’s website, the nature of Sanders and the franchise’s relationship has run its course for now.
After yesterday’s Colorado Pro Day, @Titans brass met with Shedeur Sanders’ camp and the parties have agreed to cancel the upcoming private workout.
The Titans have seen 4 years of game film, scouted multiple games, and now attended a Pro Day they described as very impressive.

The team scheduled a private workout with Sanders on April 9, but they mutually decided to cancel the event on Saturday afternoon. This appears to clear the way for Cam Ward to become the first overall selection and a Titan, barring a trade-down. Sanders is a brilliant passer in his own right, with experience at the FCS and FBS levels of football. It’s certainly possible that he slips down the board, starting with the Giants’ third selection. As ludicrous as it sounds, with the addition of two veteran signal callers.
What Happened at Colorado’s Pro Day?
Deion Sanders made his pitch that the Heisman Trophy winner and his quarterback should be the first two off the board in April.
From @CUBuffsFootball Pro Day: Asked @DeionSanders why @ShedeurSanders and @TravisHunterJr should go 1 and 2 in the NFL Draft.
It provided him with a mic drop moment.

The Sanders-Hunter connection was alive for one final time before each of them departs on their pro journeys in the near future.

Outtakes! We have outtakes!
Sanders sparked some controversy from his future colleagues with his “ball tapping” before releasing the pass. Jets safety Andre Cisco commented on social media about it.
Boy better stop patting that ball, we breakin onnat earlyyyy https://t.co/dZ3gl039up

Giants receiver and possibly future Sanders teammate, Darius Slayton, chimed in with his opinion in response to Cisco.
There’s these large fellows called lineman who are in between line of sight so if a QB isn’t 6’4-6’5+ you lose them behind the OL all the time so if i can’t see the QB throw it to me how in the Flying Dutchman is a DB gonna see him pat it BEFORE he throws it. https://t.co/sbUrJgdc6Q

What’s next?
According to Wyatt, the team planned to travel to Boulder on Thursday, but the severe weather in Nashville scuppered their plans. In the space of two time zones, the team went from thunderstorms to snowstorms. While Friday’s workout was an effective one for Sanders, it felt like a mere formality as the rumor of Ward being the first selection has been ongoing for weeks. Tennessee has spent extensive resources on scouting Sanders, including meeting with him at the Shrine Game. Could it be the best sales job in the history of “lying season” and the Titans take the Colorado passer anyway after a trade down? We shall find out in a few weeks.
