Can Treylon Burks make an impact for the Tennessee Titans this season?
It goes without saying that Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks is entering a massive training camp period. The 2022 first-round pick has come nowhere close to meeting expectations. The Titans are no longer relying on him after adding Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd earlier this offseason.
Burks is no higher than WR4 on the depth chart behind Ridley, DeAndre Hopkins, and Boyd. Burks has an opportunity at training camp to endear himself to Brian Callahan and Nick Holz, ensuring he maintains a role in the passing offense. General manager Ran Carthon claims he’s seen a more mature version of the player this offseason.
“I think Treylon has really grown up,” Carthon said. “He sent us a picture of his new physique during the offseason. He really took to heart the conversation that he had with myself and coach Callahan. He’s completely bought in. We’ve messaged back and forth throughout the offseason. I think he’s in a good spot. We added Boyd and Ridley, and obviously Hopkins was already here. For a young guy like that [Burks], he has vets he can learn from. His size, speed, and explosiveness, he can play X or Z. I’m expecting something from him. His unselfishness, we talked about him taking reps at gunner [on special teams], and that was because he wants that. He wants to prove he can stay healthy and play top-level football,” Carthon concluded.

Burks still has an opportunity to secure a future with the Titans. Hopkins and Boyd are entering contract years whereas Burks is signed through the 2025 season, with a team option for 2026 (that will likely be declined next offseason).
The Titans will hit the practice field on Wednesday. Burks must begin training camp on the right foot.
